Orienteering isn’t just for grown ups running by themselves through the bush. KID-O creates an orienteering experience for our youngest participants.
KID-O will be set up at certain events throughout the year. Look out for advertising from your local club or state/territory organisation. There is no need to register or be a member to attend KID-O, just come along.
KID-O activities are set up by a facilitator and they will be around to guide and support. Parents and caregivers engage in the activities with their children and will always remain responsible for them. This gives the facilitator a chance to complete their own orienteering course.
Help inspire a love of NATURE and NAVIGATION in your child!
KID-O is fantastic for drawing all the children together at an orienteering event. We all know kids make instant friends as soon as they are placed in the same area with some interesting activities.
Parents and Caregivers also have the chance to meet other adults in a similar stage of life at orienteering. The casual approach to facilitating KID-O means there are ample opportunities for the grown ups to build friends too!
And of course, if you would like to be more involved in facilitating KID-O, please jump in.
Stickers are always a hit for children! And KID-O has a range of stickers to collect. It’ll be another reason your kids will want to keep coming back.
Each chid will also receive a sticker book. This is a great book to store all the extra little mascot stickers they get for completing each activity. It is also a great collection of all the foundational knowledge our young ones need to progress in orienteering.
