Orienteering offers an exciting outdoor experience that helps people grow, explore and thrive.

NOW KID-O HAS ARRIVED FOR CHILDREN!

KID-O gives our youngest orienteers (ages 0–8) fun, structured opportunities to explore, learn and build the foundation for lifelong participation in orienteering.

KID-O helps develop sensory skills, gross motor skills and social skills as they participate in the variety of KID-O activities. The KID-O program will excite younger children to participate in orienteering, teach children to love the bush and help them become lifelong orienteers.

Parents also have the opportunity to be involved in the experience and get connected to other likeminded families!

Teachers and Educators will soon be able to use KID-O for their students. Launching in 2026!

WHy KID-O?

“I created the Kid-O program for my own children and for young kids across South Australia because I saw a real gap in orienteering opportunities for those under 8. While children aged 8 and up can begin learning independent navigation through junior programs, younger kids are often left watching or waiting while their parents orienteer. I wanted to give these little ones a way to be involved, to explore and play in a structured, age-appropriate way. Kid-O helps them build early confidence, movement skills, and a connection to the sport—making orienteering fun and accessible right from the beginning.”
